For my final photo essay, I had originally planned on shooting down at the softball fields and doing a story on the ongoing improvements to the softball community and fields. As luck would have it, it rained out all this week, and I was unable to shoot anything. So, the next best thing I thought to make a story out of was a trip to the zoo with my daughter and my nephews, and of course it was pouring that day too. I really wanted to get some pictures of the trainers feeding/brushing/washing the animals, but the rain impeded that plan as well. Here are the pictures that I was able to take.

The monkey exhibit was a popular favorite among the kids, and this guy was nice enough to pose for me. |

About to cross the monkey bars, Mariah gets some needed encouragement from her daddy. |

Another favorite of the kids, the big, bad lioness. She had just awoken from her slumber as I snapped this pic. |

(From L to R) Anthony, Mariah, and Antwon. Taking these guys to the zoo was a blast. |

The boss lady, Miss Katie, getting ready to brave the zoo, kids and animals alike! |
